“Our thoughts are with the student and their family at this time,” the CBE wrote.
The school will proceed with its graduation ceremony Wednesday, the board said. Classes had already been cancelled due to graduation, with instruction resuming Thursday. Counselling supports will be available to students when they return to class later in the week.

It’s not known if the teen is a member of the school’s graduating class.
The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon around 1 p.m. At about 1:20 p.m. police were called to a set of train tracks east of 85 Street N.W. near the bridge for reports a teenager was struck by a CP Rail train, Calgary Police Service said in a statement.
Fire rescue teams were called to the scene in case an extrication was necessary; however, they weren’t needed, said Carol Henke, public information officer for the Calgary Fire Department.
Three teenagers were reportedly on the railway bridge when the incident occurred, Henke said. The train was travelling south at the time toward downtown.
The teen was transported to hospital in serious, life-threatening condition. They later succumbed to their injuries and was declared deceased, CPS told Postmedia on Tuesday evening. Next of kin have been notified, they said.
Police said the incident has been deemed non-criminal in nature and therefore no further updates will be provided.
